Emblematic Mediterranean Mountains tested a more responsible and sustainable tourism development model by creating eco-itineraries. Located in their hinterland coastal areas, these eco-itineraries contribute to geographically rebalance the visitors flows, to extend the seasonality, to reduce environmental impact whilst generating economical return for these low-density areas.
The EMbleMatiC project aims to create and test a new form and offer of sustainable tourism, located in the hinterland coastal area, based on the identarian singularities of 9 mountains from the Emblematic Mediterranean Mountains (EMM) network.
Together we will create:
- A study to characterize their “EMbleMatiC dimension”
- An eco-itinerary in each of the 9 territories
- An umbrella brand and common communication tools
