Lead Partner of Emblematic project Canigó Mountain (FR) was very pleased to welcome study contractor ETAM for an on-site research of two days.
An introduction visit to a village proved a good way to experience the treasures of a typical hinterland village: local activities, agricultural past, historical heritage…
Canigó guests were also welcomed by the village committee that was celebrating autumn and was pleased to share chestnuts and sweet wine.
A stop by the office allowed Canigó director Chardon Florian to present the strategy, assets and challenges of the territory. These were amply commented over dinner in the classified Unesco fortified village of Villefranche De Conflent.
Next morning was dedicated to experience the massif with a trip to the Marialles shelter, one of the massif entry door at 1718 m.
This provided the perfect spot to illustrate our Grand Site future plans.
After a sunny pique nique for lunch, the guests were taken to an old mining site and followed the panels of an interpretation path to make sense of the on-site remains.
A biref rest at the office allowed participants to review the progresses of the study so far, before travelling to periodical municipalities committee were ETAM were greeted by Canigó’s president and vice-president.
